  • Prepare accurate records, summaries, reports, reviews and other scientific documentation, including documentation for quality reviews, accreditation, research projects and laboratory improvement activities
  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of scientific data and laboratory records

Research and development

  • Assist with research projects and investigations aimed at improving laboratory methodologies and processes, and take part in experiments, trials, observations and measurements under appropriate supervision
  • Assist in evaluating new laboratory techniques, methodologies and equipment, contribute to developing, validating and improving procedures, and help implement improved techniques and processes
  • Research developments in cytology, laboratory science and biological sciences, and record and analyse research findings to help prepare scientific reports and summaries

Professional development and collaboration

  • Keep up to date with developments in cytology, laboratory techniques and scientific technology, and review relevant scientific literature and technical information
  • Take part in training, continuing professional development and competency assessments, and maintain your technical knowledge of laboratory methodologies and equipment
