About the role
Nestled in the historic village of Jugiong, The Sir George Hotel is a beautifully restored heritage property renowned for its exceptional dining, boutique accommodation and relaxed country charm. Our venue combines contemporary hospitality with old-world character, offering guests an unforgettable regional experience.
We're seeking an experienced and professional Waiter to join our team and provide exceptional food and beverage service to our valued guests. This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Jugiong, NSW. The role requires a high level of English proficiency, both spoken and written, so you can communicate effectively with staff, suppliers and customers.
What you'll do
- Set up tables and arrange seating for customers
- Take food and beverage orders from customers
- Provide recommendations and suggestions on menu items
- Clear tables and keep the dining area clean and presentable
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues or complaints
- Take payment from customers
- Stock and replenish supplies and inventory as needed
- Follow health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, hygienic work environment
- Serve food and beverages in our hotel and dining venue
About you
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Waiter or Food and Beverage Attendant in a dining or similar environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and procedures
- Professional presentation and attention to detail
- Ability to handle customer feedback and resolve issues effectively
- Understanding of hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
- High level of spoken and written English
Qualifications
- AQF Certificate II or III in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Service, or at least one year of relevant experience in place of formal qualifications
- Additional on-the-job training or relevant certifications (such as RSA) may be required
