HR Truck Driver

About the role

We are a West Australian road transport company specialising in general freight. We put our workers first, offering a safe work environment with job security.

We are looking for two experienced HR Drivers to join our team and carry out pickups and deliveries in Perth and surrounding areas. You may need to travel to regional parts of Western Australia, but not interstate. The role is full time at 38 hours per week, with applicable superannuation on top of the salary. It suits someone who holds the relevant driver's licence, has sound geographical knowledge and takes pride in their work.

What you'll do

• Position vehicles accurately and safely for efficient loading and unloading.
• Operate lifting and tipping equipment to load and unload goods in line with handling procedures.
• Follow all occupational health and safety regulations during loading and unloading.
• Conduct routine inspections and quality checks to keep vehicles safe and roadworthy.
• Calculate load weights to make sure they comply with legal limits, and distribute weight evenly to maintain vehicle stability.
• Secure and cover cargo appropriately to prevent damage, displacement or loss during transit.
• Review and confirm loading documentation, inspect the condition of goods, and obtain delivery acknowledgements or certifications.

About you

• Demonstrated experience in load restraint of general freight, pickups and deliveries.
• Previous experience completing daily vehicle pre-start checks and driver fitness checks.
• A current HR licence (minimum) with proven experience.
• Efficient at completing delivery paperwork, including run sheets and work diaries.
• Able to work independently and manage your time effectively.
• At least AQF II or higher in a relevant qualification. One year of work experience can be used in lieu of the qualification.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant role.
